Reviewer's verdict

It’s a 30-minute Microsoft product brochure for school leaders, not a skills course. Useful only if you need the official talking points for a meeting.

Who it's for

School administrators or IT staff who are already in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem and need a quick, high-level overview.

Who should skip it

Students, developers, or anyone looking for technical skills or hands-on practice.

Pros

  • Extremely short, can be completed in a single session.
  • Provides a clear, top-down view of Microsoft's AI vision for education.
  • Good for understanding compliance and security talking points.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on activity; it's a slide deck in text form.
  • Feels like a sales pitch for Microsoft products rather than a training module.
  • Too high-level, lacks any concrete implementation details.

My district is pushing AI tools, so I took a look. This module is really just a text-based slide deck. Lots of talk about 'AI ready culture' and 'data security compliance' but no actual tools or code. The knowledge check is just a multiple-choice quiz on the buzzwords you just read. I get the target audience is 'School Leader,' not a dev or a teacher. Even so, there's nothing here you couldn't get from a Microsoft blog post. I was hoping for maybe a tiny sandbox or a sample prompt for Copilot for Education, but there’s nothing to *do*. It's just reading about what Microsoft wants you to buy. Don't call this a course, it’s marketing material.
