Reviewer's verdict

This is a product tour, not a course. It's a quick read if you want to know what the buttons do, but you won't learn how to actually write better with AI.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners looking for a quick overview of Copilot's drafting features.

Who should skip it

Anyone seeking practical skills or hands-on prompting exercises.

Pros

  • Quick, easy-to-read content.
  • Covers basic Copilot commands for content creation.
  • Up-to-date with recent Microsoft 365 features.

Cons

  • No interactive sandbox or live environment to test prompts.
  • Knowledge checks are simple vocabulary tests.
  • Feels more like a product feature page than a training module.

My Copilot sidebar in Word was just spinning, so I went looking for the official tutorial. This module was basically a feature list. The unit on drafting content was just a few paragraphs explaining that the feature exists, followed by a multiple-choice question. There's no sandbox, no environment to try prompts. You just read about what Copilot *can* do.

It feels like reading the back of a cereal box. The information is there, but you’re not learning a skill. I did the whole thing in about 30 minutes. If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription and want to know what the new buttons are supposed to do, it's a fast primer. But if you're trying to get better at prompting or writing, you won't find that here. I wouldn't set aside time for this.
