Reviewer's verdict

This is a product tour, not a technical course. It's a quick skim to understand Microsoft's marketing terms for its Copilot features, but don't expect to learn how to build or customize anything.

Who it's for

Absolute beginners using Microsoft 365 Copilot for the first time.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for technical skills or agent development knowledge.

Pros

  • Quick overview of agent archetypes (Researcher, Analyst).
  • Easy to follow, no setup required.
  • Shows what's possible inside the Microsoft ecosystem.

Cons

  • Extremely superficial; reads like a product manual.
  • 'Exercises' are just watching videos or clicking through static text.
  • Knowledge check is trivial.
  • No actual agent building or even real-time interaction.

The core problem here is the “exercises.” They aren't exercises. You’re given a scenario, then shown a pre-recorded video of someone else using Copilot, and then asked to describe what you just saw. The final ‘Exercise - Use an agent of your choice’ isn’t a sandbox or a live environment. It's just more text describing a hypothetical situation where you might use the ‘Idea Coach’ agent. There's no doing, only watching.

I get that this is for a 'Business User' role, but even so, the lack of any real interaction is disappointing. The whole thing feels like an extended PowerPoint deck. The concepts themselves—Researcher agent for gathering info, Analyst agent for spotting trends—are useful mental models, but the module doesn't give you any tools to apply them beyond just typing into the standard Copilot chat box. The so-called 'agents' are just marketing names for different prompting styles within the same product.

I spent maybe an hour and a half clicking through it. The final knowledge check was mostly repeating definitions from the text. If you're completely new to generative AI and your company just rolled out Microsoft 365, this might serve as a 90-minute orientation. But if you have used any chatbot before, you can safely skip this.
