Who it's for
Developers or PMs needing a quick glossary of Copilot extensibility terms.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for code examples, tutorials, or a hands-on lab.
Pros
Very short and can be completed quickly.
Defines the core concepts like Graph connectors and plugins.
Provides links to more in-depth modules.
Cons
Contains zero code or practical examples.
Essentially a product brochure or a glossary.
The 'Knowledge Check' is trivial and tests basic recall.
I went through this hoping for a quick 'hello world' for Copilot plugins. Instead, it was 15 minutes of reading marketing slides. The module is a high-level overview explaining that extensibility exists and is divided into plugins and Graph connectors. There's no code, no API endpoints, not even a screenshot of the developer portal. It just defines terms. The quiz at the end asks you to repeat the definitions you just read. It felt like I was reading the FAQ section of a product page, not taking a training module.
It’s not a complete waste of time if you have literally zero context and need to understand the terminology before a meeting. But if you have any coding background, you can skip this entirely. The other modules in the learning path, the ones on building connectors with .NET or TypeScript, are where the actual 'getting started' begins. This one is just the table of contents.
