Reviewer's verdict

This is a documentation fly-by, not a course. It shows you where the policy settings are in the Azure portal but doesn't teach you how to write or enforce them. Read it if you have 30 minutes to kill, but don't expect to learn a skill.

Azure users needing a quick intro to where AI governance policies live.

Who it's for

Azure users needing a quick intro to where AI governance policies live.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for hands-on labs or practical policy-writing skills.

Pros

  • Very short, can be completed quickly.
  • Points to the relevant Azure services and policy definitions.
  • Up-to-date links to Azure AI Foundry policies.

Cons

  • No real hands-on exercises; it's just text and multiple-choice questions.
  • Feels more like documentation than a course.
  • The 'Knowledge Check' is extremely basic.

The Knowledge Check has three questions, basically asking if you remember the names of the services on the previous pages. There's no sandbox, no JSON to write, no policy to apply. The whole module is a few short paragraphs explaining what Azure Policy is and that, yes, it can be used for AI services. It links out to the Azure AI Foundry on GitHub, which is helpful, but the module itself adds very little value on top of that.

It’s useful if you have literally never heard of Azure Policy and need to know it exists. For anyone else, you'll get more out of going to the GitHub repo directly and reading the policy definition files. This felt like reading a product page, not learning a technical concept. It’s a signpost, not a lesson.
