Who it's for
New managers who need a talking-point overview of Copilot features.
Who should skip it
Developers who want to actually build something or get better at using the tool.
Pros
Quick overview of newer features like agent mode and cloud agent.
Introduces the concept of using Copilot for pull requests.
Updated recently, so the features mentioned are current.
Cons
Zero hands-on practice; it's just reading about features.
The content feels like a product marketing deck, not a technical tutorial.
Way too basic for anyone who has used Copilot for more than a week.
Feels repetitive if you've done Part 1.
Part 1 of this path had some issues, but at least it felt like a tutorial. This second part drops the pretense entirely. The whole thing reads like a PowerPoint deck someone turned into a text file. You don't build anything. You don't debug anything. You just read about features, one after another. The module titled 'Building applications with GitHub Copilot agent mode'? There's no building. It’s a high-level description of what agent mode is, with a few screenshots. The Python and JavaScript sections are the same: a list of things Copilot can theoretically do, like 'generate unit tests' or 'explain code'. If you've been using the tool at all, you already know this.
I was hoping for something tangible, especially around the agentic parts. I wanted to see a tricky problem that the 'cloud agent' actually solves, or a complex pull request that gets genuinely improved by Copilot's suggestions—not just boilerplate comments. Instead, it’s all perfect-world scenarios. The labs are just multiple-choice questions asking if you remember the marketing copy from the previous page. I finished it in about an hour, mostly by skimming, because there's no code to write or environment to set up. It's a feature list, not training. It's for managers who need to prepare for a vendor call.
