A useful guided tour of the Azure ML Model Catalog, but the title overpromises on explaining Transformer architecture. Treat it as product documentation, not a technical deep-dive.

Who it's for
Azure users needing a quick overview of the AML Model Catalog
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for a rigorous explanation of Transformer architecture
Pros
Updated recently
Quick tour of the Azure ML foundation model catalog interface
Connects historical context (statistical NLP) to current models
Cons
The 'Transformer architecture' part is extremely shallow
Hands-on exercise is just a guided click-through
Overly focused on the Azure UI, light on transferable concepts
Deploying a BERT model from the Azure ML catalog was the entire hands-on part. That's it. The preceding units are a whirlwind tour from TF-IDF to Transformers in about twenty minutes, which felt rushed and superficial. There's no math, no code walkthrough of an attention mechanism—just a high-level diagram before it shoves you into the Azure UI.
As someone who works with these models daily, I was hoping for a more rigorous treatment. Maybe a comparison of Azure's implementation details or performance benchmarks for their catalog models. Instead, I got a product tour. A useful one, I suppose, if you've never seen the AML studio's model catalog before. But the title 'Understand the Transformer architecture' is misleading. You’ll understand where to click in Azure, not how the architecture actually works.
