Reviewer's verdict

This is a product tour, not a technical tutorial. It's for business users who already live inside the Dynamics 365 ecosystem and need to know which buttons to click. It offers little value for anyone outside that specific role.

Decision summary

Best for

Functional consultants needing a quick overview of Power Virtual Agents integration in Dynamics 365.

Watch for

Zero hands-on practice; it's a 'read and click' module.

Who it's for

Functional consultants needing a quick overview of Power Virtual Agents integration in Dynamics 365.

Who should skip it

Developers or students looking for hands-on coding experience or general chatbot principles.

Pros

  • Quick, high-level walkthrough of the integration process.
  • Clear screenshots guide you through the UI.
  • Introduces key terminology for Dynamics 365 and Omnichannel.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on practice; it's a 'read and click' module.
  • Assumes you have access to and familiarity with a pre-configured Dynamics 365 environment.
  • Teaches a very specific, niche business process with low generalizability.

Unit 4, 'Configure Omnichannel for Customer Service,' is just a slideshow of screenshots. It shows where to click inside a Dynamics 365 admin panel I don't have access to, and I'm not about to start a trial just for this. The text explains what the buttons do, but there's nothing for me to actually *do*. The whole module is like this.

It feels like reading a car manual without the car, the keys, or even a driver's license. The course walks you through connecting a Power Virtual Agents bot to Omnichannel, but it assumes you already have both set up and configured. So I'm just reading along, nodding at pictures of menus. No sample code, no sandbox, not even a simulated environment to click through. The knowledge check at the end basically just asks if you remember the names of the menus from the screenshots.

I was hoping to learn something about how agents and bots are integrated on a technical level—maybe see an API call or a data schema. Instead, I learned the specific UI path for one feature in one Microsoft product. It’s too specific to be useful for a general CS path and too shallow to feel like I learned anything substantial. This is just a 30-minute advertisement for a product suite I don't use.
