Who it's for
Functional consultants or admins already inside the Dynamics 365 ecosystem
Who should skip it
Beginners, developers, or anyone looking for a hands-on AI/voice project
Pros
Quick overview of new Dynamics 365 Contact Center features.
Covers key concepts like orchestration modes and multilingual support.
Clear, concise text-based format.
Cons
Zero hands-on exercises; it's a product tour, not a lab.
Requires significant prior knowledge of the Dynamics 365 platform to be useful.
The 'AI' aspect is just configuration, not model building or coding.
The security and compliance section had a single screenshot and a paragraph about call recording policies. That was it. No sandbox, no sample data, no place to even try clicking the toggles shown in the pictures. This isn't training; it's a feature list from a PowerPoint deck chopped into webpage sections.
I was drawn in by 'intelligent voice agents' and 'AI orchestration,' thinking there might be a small, self-contained project here. Maybe a little bot to build, some basic logic to script. Something to add to a portfolio. Instead, it’s a high-level tour for people who are already Dynamics 365 administrators. The whole thing assumes you have an existing D365 environment and a license to apply this stuff to. Without that context, it's just a vocabulary lesson. You learn what 'copilot-first' vs 'IVR-first' orchestration modes are, but you don't build them. You read that it supports multilingual agents, but you don't configure one.
The knowledge check at the end just tests if you remember the marketing terms from the previous pages. I passed it without any real understanding of how to implement any of this. It's frustrating because the topic is genuinely interesting. But this module is just an advertisement for a very expensive enterprise product. It doesn't teach you a skill, it just informs you that a feature exists. I should have done the FinOps module instead; at least that's a more transferable concept.
