Reviewer's verdict

It’s a functional product tour for people already inside the Dynamics ecosystem. For anyone else, it's just a set of screenshots.

Who it's for

Existing Dynamics 365 consultants or business users needing a tour of new features.

Who should skip it

Developers or anyone looking for hands-on configuration or API details.

Pros

  • Up-to-date overview of the latest AI features in Dynamics Sales.
  • Clear screenshots showing where to find settings in the UI.
  • Completely free and quick to get through.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on interaction; it's a read-only guide.
  • Doesn't explain the 'how' behind the AI or forecasting models.
  • Feels more like an extended product manual than a training module.

The title promised analyzing sales performance with AI. I expected to, you know, analyze something. Or configure something. Instead, this is a product brochure you read. There’s no sandbox, no API to call, no dataset to wrangle. You just scroll through screenshots of an idealized Dynamics 365 instance where everything is already perfect.

The Sales Research Agent sounds interesting on paper — a natural language interface for sales data. But the module just shows you what it looks like. You don't build one. You don't feed it data. You don't even get to type a query. It's like reading a car review that only describes the dashboard buttons but never lets you turn the key. The section on predictive forecasting was the same deal. The module says 'configure predictive forecasting,' then just shows a screenshot of the configuration screen.

I get it. This is for functional consultants who need to know which menu to click for a demo. But calling it an 'intermediate' module is a stretch. It's a feature list. A well-illustrated one, I'll give it that. But if you're a developer hoping to understand how to pipe data into these models or integrate the output, you will find nothing here. I finished it in under an hour, and my main takeaway was a better understanding of Microsoft's marketing slides.
