It’s a 20-minute product brochure, not a course. Read it if you're completely new to the idea, but don't expect to learn how to do anything.

Who it's for
Absolute beginners who have never seen Copilot in Excel and want a quick product tour.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for hands-on practice or deep Excel skills.
Pros
Quick overview of what Copilot can do in Excel.
Shows concrete examples for formula generation and data visualization.
Up-to-date screenshots.
Cons
No hands-on environment; it's just screenshots and text.
The 'exercises' are just descriptions of what to do, not actual practice labs.
Too basic for anyone who has used Excel for more than a month.
Waiting for a sandbox to load, I realized one was never coming. This isn't a course where you do anything. The section called 'Exercise - Generate formulas' is just a screenshot. You read a block of text, look at a picture of someone else's screen, and that's it. No sample file, not even a prompt to open your own Excel. I went through the whole thing waiting for the part where I actually *do* something, and it never came. The next 'exercise' on visualizing data is the same deal: more pictures.
I get that these Microsoft Learn modules are supposed to be quick intros, but this barely qualifies as training. It's just a product feature page sliced into 'units.' The knowledge check at the end just asks you to recall which button was shown in the screenshots. You could pass it by just memorizing the pictures without understanding a single thing about Excel formulas or data analysis.
I was hoping for at least a downloadable spreadsheet to follow along with. Without that, the content is just too abstract. It shows you that Copilot can write a formula to calculate profit margins, but it doesn't give you the data to try it on, or explain the edge cases where Copilot might fail. It's a demo, a completely passive experience. If you've never heard of Copilot in Excel, maybe this saves you a five-minute YouTube search. Otherwise, it's a skip.
