This isn't a technical course, it's a 30-minute product pitch. It answers 'what is it?' but provides zero information on 'how to use it'. Skip if you're a developer; maybe skim if you're a manager.

Who it's for
Technology managers or business leads needing a high-level overview of a new Microsoft product.
Who should skip it
Students or developers looking for a technical introduction or code examples.
Pros
Provides a very quick, high-level summary of a new product name.
Clear diagrams explaining the local vs. hybrid cloud concept.
Mentions specific use cases like retail and manufacturing.
Cons
No technical depth whatsoever; it's a product brochure in module format.
Knowledge check questions are just vocabulary recall from the preceding page.
No hands-on component or code to inspect.
Feels more like marketing material than a genuine learning resource.
The title had 'Foundry' and 'Windows' in it, so I clicked, hoping for a technical primer on running local models. Maybe some PowerShell scripts, a hint of a WSL setup, or just a screenshot of an actual developer environment. I got none of that.
This isn't a learning module. It's a PowerPoint deck converted into a click-through webpage. The content is pure marketing-speak: 'Shift Toward Local Hybrid AI,' followed by a diagram showing a cloud and a laptop. The 'How it Works' section is another high-level diagram without a single line of code or a mention of a specific API endpoint. You learn that Foundry on Windows exists, that it's for local AI, and that it can connect to the cloud. That’s it.
The knowledge check at the end felt almost insulting. It asks you to recall definitions from the paragraph you just read, like 'What is the primary benefit of Microsoft Foundry on Windows?'. The answer is, of course, the one that sounds most like the marketing slogan on the previous slide. I finished this in under 20 minutes and my main takeaway was the name of a new product.
I get that some modules are for 'Business Leaders' and 'Technology Managers', but even for that audience, this feels thin. It's an internal product one-pager, not a resource that actually teaches anything. Disappointing.
