Reviewer's verdict

A necessary evil if you're stuck managing a Dynamics 365 instance. It does the job of showing you which buttons to press, but don't expect to learn any transferable engineering principles.

Who it's for

Existing Dynamics 365 users or consultants needing to configure case queues.

Who should skip it

Anyone outside the Dynamics ecosystem; developers looking for deep API integration guides.

Pros

  • Straightforward, step-by-step guide to setting up queues.
  • Covers both manual assignment and rule-based routing.
  • Practical for anyone managing a Dynamics Customer Service implementation.
  • Recently updated content.

Cons

  • Extremely specific to the Dynamics 365 UI.
  • Zero coding, all point-and-click configuration.
  • 'Hands-on' means following a UI tutorial, not building anything.
  • The AI-routing hook feels like a tacked-on marketing point.

A client's support ticketing was a shared inbox. A complete mess. They owned Dynamics 365 but only used it as a glorified rolodex, so I had to figure out how to make it do something useful. This module was my crash course.

It’s a pure point-and-click walkthrough. No code, just a sequence of screenshots and 'go here, click this' instructions to set up queues and routing rules. I can't fault it for what it is: a manual for a specific piece of enterprise software, and it's accurate. I followed the steps, configured a couple of queues for tier 1 and escalations, and built a routing rule. It worked. The client's shared inbox nightmare is now slightly less of a nightmare.

My main gripe is with the framing. The summary dangles 'AI-driven routing.' This module doesn't touch AI. It sets up the plumbing *for* AI, which is a classic enterprise software bait-and-switch. You're not building an intelligent system here; you're just labeling pipes. It’s like selling a lesson on laying PVC as 'the foundation for a smart aqueduct.' Technically true, but come on.

If your job involves taming Dynamics, this hour will save you three hours of fumbling through the admin panel. For anyone else, it’s a tour of a walled garden you have no reason to visit.
