Reviewer's verdict

This is a product brochure disguised as a training module. Read it if your manager asks you to understand Copilot Studio's features, but don't expect to learn how to use it.

Who it's for

Functional consultants or business users who need a high-level overview of Copilot Studio's features.

Who should skip it

Developers or anyone looking to build a working agent or write any code.

Pros

  • Provides a structured list of Copilot Studio's capabilities.
  • Visually clean interface with lots of screenshots.
  • Quick to get through if you just need the vocabulary.

Cons

  • Zero hands-on activity; it's a product tour, not a tutorial.
  • Feels like reading a sales brochure or documentation summary.
  • Knowledge check questions are simple vocabulary recall.
  • Doesn't prepare you to actually build anything.

The clickthrough on how Copilot Studio uses your data was when it became clear this wasn’t a real course. It's just a slideshow of screenshots and reassurances about enterprise-grade security. I get it, Microsoft wants business users to feel safe, but I was hoping for a diagram, a data flow example, maybe even a mock-up of where you'd connect a data source in the UI. Instead, it was just text. The whole module follows this pattern.

The unit on knowledge and tools lists what you can connect—websites, SharePoint, Azure OpenAI models—but it's just a list. There's no sandbox, no sample data, not even a greyed-out button to click. It feels like reading the back of a cereal box to learn how to farm wheat. I finished the entire thing in under 45 minutes, mostly by skimming the text to find the keywords that would obviously be on the final quiz.

The quiz itself was disappointing. Questions were like, "What feature is used to monitor agent performance?" A) Analytics, B) Magic, C) A different product. It feels designed to be passed by anyone with a pulse who skimmed the page headers. It's a vocabulary test for a product you never get to touch. I came away knowing the names of the features, but I have zero confidence I could actually open Copilot Studio and build a simple agent that does anything useful.
