This is a product tour, not a builder's course. Use it to quickly understand what AI Builder does, then move on to something with actual code if you need to build something serious.

Who it's for
Business users exploring what's possible with Power Platform's no-code AI.
Who should skip it
Developers looking for API-level control or to build custom models from scratch.
Pros
Good, quick tour of AI Builder's pre-built capabilities.
Clear, step-by-step instructions for each model type.
Covers a wide range of common business tasks like invoice processing and text analysis.
Cons
The 'building' is just clicking through a wizard.
Feels like a sales demo for Power Platform, not a real engineering course.
Labs are sandboxed and don't teach you how to handle real-world messy data.
I went through this entire path waiting for the part where I actually build something. That part never came. The whole thing is a guided tour of a GUI. You click ‘Create Model,’ upload a few perfectly formatted sample documents, and the wizard does the rest. It’s magic, I guess, if your job is to click buttons.
Take the invoice processing module. They give you five pristine invoices. The model trains. It works. What happens when I point it at a crumpled receipt photo from my phone? Or a PDF with a weird table format? The course doesn't go there. It's a happy-path-only demo. I spent more time activating a Power Platform trial and navigating the environment than I did ‘training’ any of the models.
The name 'AI Builder' feels like a stretch. You're not building; you're assembling pre-fabricated parts. It’s like calling someone who puts together IKEA furniture a carpenter. I get the target audience isn't me. It’s for someone who has never seen an API and whose boss told them to 'add some AI' to their workflow. For that person, this is a decent map of what the tool can do. But if you need to solve a real data extraction or classification problem, you're going to need more than this.
