A solid, up-to-date product tour for functional consultants. For anyone on the data or dev side, it's a quick read that confirms you need to look elsewhere for technical details.

Who it's for
Functional consultants or business users getting oriented in D365 Field Service.
Who should skip it
Data scientists or developers looking for API access or data schema details.
Pros
Very recent, so screenshots and terms match the current UI.
Clear, step-by-step walk-through of core configuration screens.
Good conceptual overview of how entities like Work Orders and Territories relate.
Cons
No hands-on environment; it's a read-and-click-through module.
Doesn't cover the data model or analytics integration.
Stays at the UI level, ignoring programmatic configuration.
Unit 6, 'Configuring Field Service Settings,' finally showed the Copilot and scheduling settings I was looking for. Everything before that felt like a long guided tour of UI screens—defining products, territories, work order types. Necessary, I suppose, if you're a functional consultant doing a first-time setup.
From a data science perspective, this module is all surface. It shows you where to click, but not the underlying data schema or API endpoints. I was hoping for a clearer picture of how work order data flows or how the Resource Scheduling Optimization (RSO) engine is configured beyond a toggle switch. The content is very recent, which is a definite plus. But it’s purely descriptive. I finished it in about 45 minutes realizing my questions about the data model would have to be answered by digging through the actual Dataverse tables myself.
