Who it's for
Power Platform users curious about AI Builder document automation.
Who should skip it
Developers wanting to build custom document processing models from scratch.
Pros
Quick introduction to a useful Power Platform feature.
Hands-on walkthrough of installing and configuring the prebuilt solution.
Completely free to try on the MS Learn platform.
Cons
More of a product tour than a course.
Covers only the prepackaged solution, not custom models.
Lacks depth on troubleshooting or real-world edge cases.
The install took longer than the module itself. I spent about ten minutes just waiting for the 'Document Automation' solution to finish installing in my Power Platform environment before I could even start step three. Once it was running, the rest was just clicking through the pre-configured flows and watching sample files get processed. It works, and it's nice that it's all free to try.
It showed me the basic monitoring dashboard and how the human validation station works, which was the most interesting part. You get a good sense of the out-of-the-box capability for things like invoices. But there's no real 'learning' here; you're just following a recipe. It's a solid 25-minute product demo, not a class on how to build document intelligence. If I needed this for a job tomorrow, it would be a decent starting point. As a student, it feels a bit thin.
