Reviewer's verdict

A quick, guided tour of Microsoft's Copilot features for the Power Platform. You see what the buttons do, but you don't learn how to build anything resilient.

Who it's for

Business users exploring low-code AI generation capabilities.

Who should skip it

Developers looking for deep integration or customization patterns.

Pros

  • Broad survey of how Copilot is integrated into each Power Platform tool.
  • Hands-on labs use a consistent 'real estate' scenario.
  • Shows the entire 'text-to-app' and 'text-to-flow' process.

Cons

  • Shallow 'press-this-button' instructions with little room for deviation.
  • The generated outputs are simplistic and require heavy modification for real use.
  • Doesn't cover what happens when Copilot fails or how to debug the generated code/logic.

The entire path is a single, long real estate demo. You start with Copilot in Power Apps, describe an app to track properties, and it spits out a basic CRUD screen from an Excel file. Then you do the same for Power Automate, telling it to create flows for new listings. Same again for a public-facing website in Power Pages.

Every module is the same loop: type a sentence, watch the AI generate something, click next. The demo works. But the moment you need to change a field or connect to a real data source that isn't a perfect spreadsheet, you're on your own. It feels less like learning a skill and more like watching a magic trick. You see the result, but you have no idea how it really works or what to do when it breaks.
