Reviewer's verdict

A good starting point to see what's possible with AI Builder in Power Automate, but it's just a demo. You'll need real-world projects to learn anything substantial.

Who it's for

Power Platform users curious about adding prebuilt AI to flows

Who should skip it

Developers who want to train or fine-tune models

Pros

  • Quick, clear overview of what AI Builder is
  • Demonstrates practical use cases inside Power Automate
  • No setup required

Cons

  • The exercise is just a multiple-choice quiz, not a hands-on lab
  • More of a product tour than a skills-building module
  • Doesn't cover any of the pricing or licensing realities

The so-called exercise just walks you through screenshots of a Power Automate flow and then asks multiple-choice questions. No sandbox, no trial environment. You don't get to click 'Create a flow from blank' and drag the AI Builder action yourself. For a short intro module, I get it, but it feels more like watching a video than doing a lab.

It's a solid 30-minute map of where AI Builder fits. It points to the prebuilt models for things like invoice processing or text classification, and the custom prompt builder. That part was useful for orientation. I just wish there was one tiny, hands-on task to solidify it. I ended up just opening my own Power Automate dev account and trying to replicate the screenshots myself, which was probably the real lesson here.
