It’s a guided product tour, not a course for building things. Useful if your company is paying and you need to understand the new terminology, but don't expect to become an 'agent builder'.

Who it's for
Business users curious about what a Copilot 'agent' is, who have budget for a full-day guided tour.
Who should skip it
Anyone looking for a technical deep-dive or wanting to build custom, code-based agents.
Pros
Provides a clear, non-technical definition of what Microsoft considers an 'agent'.
Hands-on labs are simple enough for absolute beginners.
Connects Copilot features to familiar M365 tools like SharePoint and Teams.
Cons
The term 'agent' is used loosely; it's mostly about customizing Copilot prompts.
Feels more like a sales demo for M365 capabilities than a skills-building course.
Instructor-led format is expensive and time-consuming for the conceptual payload.
The hands-on lab where we built a 'SharePoint agent' was the moment it clicked for me. Not in a good way. The entire exercise was just customizing a Copilot in a SharePoint site to answer questions from a specific document library. I did it, it worked, but then I thought: wait, isn't that just a better search bar? The course calls this an 'agent', but my team would call it 'configuring the settings'.
This is the core issue with MS-4019. It spends a lot of time rebranding existing M365 features with new AI terminology. We learned how to make Copilot answer questions based on a specific file, or how to create a reusable prompt in Copilot Chat. Useful tricks, sure, but calling them 'agents' feels like a stretch. It's marketing-speak designed to make routine tasks sound like science fiction.
Our instructor did their best, but they're given a script. They walk you through the 'what', but not the 'why' or 'what if'. What if my process doesn't fit neatly into a SharePoint list? What's the real difference between this and a Power Automate flow with a Copilot step? The course doesn't go there. It’s a tour of the buttons on the dashboard, not a map of the territory. I walked away understanding Microsoft's vision for agents, but I didn't feel equipped to build anything that would actually transform a business process. I just learned how to make a chatbot.
