A costly, high-level product tour masquerading as a technical course. It's a guided click-through of UI features, not a serious study of AI application. Skip unless your company is paying for it and requires the certificate.

Who it's for
Business users mandated to complete a Copilot training for compliance or onboarding.
Who should skip it
Data scientists, engineers, or anyone looking for technical depth or a scientific evaluation of LLM capabilities.
Pros
Structured walk-through of 10 different business function scenarios.
Provides a baseline vocabulary for discussing Copilot in a corporate setting.
Hands-on exercises confirm basic functionality across M365 apps.
Cons
Content is superficial and feels more like a product demo than a skills course.
Requires a paid Copilot license just to follow along with basic exercises.
Instructor-led format feels excessive for the level of material covered.
No discussion of prompt engineering principles, limitations, or evaluation metrics.
The lab for the 'Finance' use case asks you to prompt Copilot in Word to 'summarize this document into a table of key financial metrics.' The document is a pre-written, clean, one-page report. It works. Then the lab ends. There is no follow-up on what happens with a 50-page, poorly formatted quarterly filing, or how to chain prompts to extract and validate specific non-obvious figures. The entire course felt like this: a series of perfectly staged demos.
This isn't really a 'course' in the academic sense. It's a 24-hour guided tour of the Copilot UI. The ten use cases—Sales, HR, IT, etc.—are just different flavors of the same task: summarize, draft, create a presentation. We spent hours watching an instructor click buttons we could have discovered ourselves in an afternoon. There was zero discussion of the underlying models, prompt engineering principles beyond the most basic 'be clear,' or how to critically evaluate the output. We were never asked to assess if Copilot's summary was accurate, only to confirm that it generated one.
The prerequisite note is also strange. It asks for familiarity with Copilot, yet the course itself is the most basic introduction imaginable. The real prerequisite is a paid M365 Copilot license, which feels like a steep price for entry to a beginner's demo. Honestly, you could get more practical knowledge by watching a few YouTube tutorials and spending an afternoon experimenting with your own work documents. This is for someone whose manager said 'go get trained on Copilot,' not for anyone trying to build a rigorous skill.
