Reviewer's verdict

A necessary evil for corporate IT admins targeting the MD-102 cert. It's a comprehensive but exhausting bootcamp that gets you hands-on with the entire Intune console. Don't pay for this out of pocket.

Who it's for

IT admins tasked with managing a Microsoft 365 device fleet who need a structured path for the MD-102 exam.

Who should skip it

Solo developers or small teams without a corporate M365 environment.

Pros

  • Comprehensive coverage of the Intune ecosystem, from enrollment to security.
  • Labs provide a sandbox for configuring policies you wouldn't risk in production.
  • Directly maps to the MD-102 certification exam objectives.
  • Covers modern topics like AVD, Windows 365, and the Intune Suite.

Cons

  • Extremely dense; feels like drinking from a firehose over a few days.
  • Pacing depends heavily on the instructor and the rest of the class.
  • The cost is significant, usually requiring company sponsorship.
  • Focus is on the 'what' and 'how', not always the 'why' behind architectural choices.

The lab environment is the whole point. Clicking through the Intune portal to set up a compliance policy on a live tenant is a career-limiting move. Here, you get a clean slate to break things. I bricked a virtual machine trying to get an Autopilot profile to apply correctly. That's a good day. It's better than getting a call from HR because you pushed a bad config to the entire sales team's laptops.

The course is a firehose. It's eighty percent trying to keep up with the instructor's clicks through the Entra and Intune portals, and twenty percent trying to understand the fifty acronyms they just used. Microsoft Tunnel, Cloud PKI, Defender for Endpoint... it's all in there. By the third day, my brain was mush. You're not building a product. You're learning the thousand-page manual for a very specific, very large machine.

I went into this because a client project involved locking down contractor devices. I could have pieced it together from documentation, sure. But that would have taken a month of trial and error. This crammed it into a week of pain. The material on Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 was surprisingly useful, seeing how cloud PCs are actually provisioned and managed. It's not just a VM; it's a whole different set of policies. It's a certification prep course, make no mistake. It ticks the boxes for the MD-102 exam. Just don't expect to come out of it an architect.
