This is a one-hour sales pitch masquerading as a course. It offers a surface-level glimpse of what Microsoft calls 'agents' but provides no technical substance or actionable knowledge. It's a pass for anyone with a technical background.

Who it's for
School administrators or K-12 educators needing a high-level conceptual overview.
Who should skip it
Developers, data scientists, or anyone looking to build or technically evaluate AI agents.
Pros
Extremely brief, can fit into a lunch break.
Conceptually introduces 'agents' in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
Dated January 2026, so the terminology is current.
Cons
Zero technical depth or hands-on activity.
Acts more like a sales presentation than a technical training.
Content is a subset of other, longer Microsoft courses.
Confusingly targets 'K-12 Educators' but talks about SharePoint and Copilot Chat in a business context.
The final slide pointed to a 'Find a Global Training Partner' link. That’s when it clicked: this wasn't a course. It was the pre-sales call you have to sit through to *get* to the course. The entire hour felt like an extended product one-pager, read aloud. We were shown diagrams of how agents are 'embedded within SharePoint and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat' and told they 'boost productivity.' What we weren't shown was a single line of code, an API endpoint, a configuration screen, or even a robust demo of one being built or customized.
For a session updated in January 2026, I expected some substance. How does this differ from the Agent framework in Azure AI Studio? What are the underlying models? What are the limitations on data sources for grounding? The instructor-led format implies a chance for Q&A, but the material was so high-level that any technical question would have been out of scope. The target audience of 'K-12 Educator' also felt like a mismatch for a discussion centered on SharePoint and enterprise chat. The three-hour version might contain the actual content, but this one-hour version is entirely skippable. It’s a conceptual tour that leaves you with more questions about its purpose than about AI agents themselves. I can't see any data scientist or engineer getting value here.
