Reviewer's verdict

This is a product tour, not a technical course. It shows you which buttons to click in Office, but you won't build anything or learn how it works. Only take it if your company is paying and making you.

Who it's for

Non-technical managers or educators mandated to use M365 Copilot.

Who should skip it

Developers or anyone looking for technical details or API access.

Pros

  • Quick overview of what the product does in Office apps.
  • Shows the intended use cases for Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Up-to-date with the current M365 interface.

Cons

  • Zero technical depth.
  • Essentially a live, three-hour sales demo.
  • No hands-on building, just watching a presenter.
  • Instructor-led format is a barrier for self-paced learning.

My company's partner manager pushed this. It's a three-hour guided tour of Microsoft 365 Copilot. The instructor clicks through Word, summarizes an email in Outlook, generates a presentation from a document. I get it. It's aimed at educators and business users. But there’s nothing under the hood. No APIs, no architecture, no discussion of extending it. Just prompts.

I kept waiting for the part where we'd build something, even a tiny script. Never happened. The whole session felt like being trapped in a live infomercial. For anyone who's already used the API for GPT-4 or Claude, this is a step backwards. At least I didn't pay for it directly.
