Reviewer's verdict

A useful, if expensive, guided tour for managers needing to understand the Fabric data science workflow. It connects the dots but won't make you a practitioner.

Best for

Product managers or team leads in Microsoft-centric organizations looking to understand the Fabric workflow.

Who it's for

Product managers or team leads in Microsoft-centric organizations looking to understand the Fabric workflow.

Who should skip it

Anyone looking for deep ML theory or experience with non-Microsoft tools.

Pros

  • Provides a concrete mental model of how Fabric connects data to models.
  • Stays focused on the platform's 'how' rather than abstract ML theory.
  • Good for understanding what your data science team is actually doing in Fabric.

Cons

  • Heavily scripted; feels more like a product demo than a skills course.
  • Assumes some Python familiarity, which might trip up true non-technical managers.
  • Expensive for what is essentially a guided tour of a single product.

The end-to-end workflow diagram in module one was the only thing I needed. It showed how a business problem gets from a lakehouse to a Power BI report inside Fabric. The rest was just clicking through a pre-configured environment. This gave me a map of what my data science team does, which is what I wanted. I just didn't need three days of instructor time to get it. A two-hour executive briefing would have been better.
